Traffic to Your Site
About Getting Traffic to Your Site
Clearly it is self evident that one of the fundementals that an internet marketer has to work on, is to get traffic to his site. If there are no visitors, there are no sales.
It is possible to split up the marketplace of potential customers in several different ways. In this article I will speak about two of those ways:
From one standpoint we can see two groups of potential customers in the “warm market” and the “cold market”. The warm market are those people who know you, and/or respect you, and/or with whom you have established your authority about a particular subject. The “cold market” are people who don’t know you from a hole in the head. Clearly, it is easier to sell to your “warm market” then to your “cold market”.
From another standpoint there are people who have are desperate to buy your item in order to fill an urgent need. These are the people with the proverbial “credit card between their teeth.” On the other hand, there are people who are not looking for your product, but would be willing to buy it if the price/conditions were right.
Finally, market strategies can be split up into two, “push marketing” and “pull marketing”. Push marketing is where you go the the prospective client and offer him what you have to sell. Pull marketing is where you position yourself so that the buyer who is looking for what you are selling will find you.

Hello Boruch,
I noticed you are able to remove the number appearing in the categories titles. i.e.yorgoo and internet marketing.
I my categories, I have a number indicating the number of posts in each categorie, next to the categories’ name. It looks lihe this [7].
I would love to learn how I too could have amended and hope you’ll reply.
Thanks in advance. Good articles you have there by the way!
Cheers,
Nick
Hi Nick,
The truth is that I didn’t do it on purpose because I wanted the numbers out. The numbers don’t bother me and I wouldn’t mind having them there. But what I did was when I installed the My Favorite Blogs widget in my second collum, everything else that was there from before, like the categories, disappeared. I went back to the widgets page and saw that there were widgets for categories and the other things that I wanted, so I enabled them. That is what you are seeing, the category widget enabled from the widget page.
Before you do it, double check with the big boys regarding SEO considerations. It is known that Google cannot read widgets, so in order to get your numbers out you might be doing yourself a disservice. Please let me know if you find out anything of significance.
Regarding your compliment, who was it that said to Frodo, “The praise of the praiseworthy is above all rewards”? I see that you are doing a great job yourself in developing your blog. Keep up the good work, and thank you for the post on stats.
All the best,
Boruch
PS Oh, it was Faramir that said to Sam …
